It’s football time in Tennessee! You know what that means… We’ll be watching along and showing our team spirit all season long at Dead End BBQ.

As a former middle school football coach and proud UTK alumni, Dead End BBQ co-owner, George Ewart, has always been an avid sports fan with a passion for helping youth thrive. Over the years, he’s coached hundreds of student-athletes in the greater Knoxville community to victories on and off the field, and many former players went on to receive athletic scholarships or continue their studies at colleges across the Southeast.

This connection between sports and education is a recurring theme in Ewart’s personal and professional life—one that’s carried over into the Dead End BBQ atmosphere and the restaurant’s relationship with the University of Tennessee.

Bring on the Football 

It’s hard NOT to think of sports when you visit us. Between the photos of well known athletes, the orange everywhere (go Vols!), and the UT RecSports Complex directly across the street, we’ve designed our restaurant to be the ultimate spot for game day grub.

From the first of September through the end of November, our guests can expect to see the UT football games on several screens across our restaurant, including our spacious covered patio. UT students looking for a place near campus to watch the game can also join in on the fun, thanks to a partnership with the university that allows VolCard payments at Dead End BBQ.
